Wedding Photographer’s Dream Bridal Session
I had so much fun photographing this Aztec-themed indoor bridal shoot with a variety of wonderful local Savannah wedding vendors. Indoor styled shoots are interesting for me, as a Savannah Wedding Photographer, because we have the ability to craft the look to be exactly as we envision – we aren’t competing with weather, lighting, or any unknown elements and have the creative control we love. This can make shooting the details so much more fun and interesting, and I love how we were able to pull together so many unique elements that could inspire every bride.
The florist team at Colonial House of Flowers created such a stunning and fresh base for this shoot by incorporating succulents as well as relying on a bohemian and Aztec desert styled wildflower look. A dream for any wedding photographer! By pulling together floral elements that make us feel as though we’re in the middle of a perfect field on a midsummer day, it gave the perfect backdrop for the rest of us to get inspired and creative.
Next, and so importantly, let’s talk about the dress. We are so grateful that Ivory and Beau came on board with our vision and let us shoot with such an incredible bohemian gown by Ti Adora. It fit our model, Natalie, just perfectly! I love the vertical lines that run through the dress, which would be flattering to any bride, coupled especially with the waist-cinching gathering at the midsection. The transparent overlay gives an almost magical look to the bride and really adds to the overall bohemian style we were going for.
To pair perfectly with the dress, Trumpet and Horn provided such a gorgeous, non-traditional ring for us to work with and fit perfectly within the swoon-worthy ring box from The Mrs Box. Hair and makeup by Haley Ann really added to the natural, whimsical and bohemian look and stayed so on trend for 2016 hair and makeup inspiration for brides in Savannah!
Incorporating hand lettering by Emelyn Letters was an amazing way to add sophistication and elegance and add to the whimsical theme, and I’d love to see brides bringing hand lettering and calligraphy into the decor inspiration for their wedding day. Custom hand lettering is a wonderful art form, but also an incredible way to bring in the most meaningful quotes, lyrics, and mantras from the couple’s own life into their special day.
The minimalistic style details that made this shoot such a stunning success included the decor that any bride across the nation could get her hands on from Urban Outfitters: their gold-lined accessories completed the Aztec theme and would add to any wedding and are so affordable that brides with all budgets and themes are able to bring little details like we used into their wedding decor.
The white buttercream frosting look is so natural and lovely, the cake would add to any couple that values a sophisticated and chic style. Our stylist from Design Studio South had such an eye for the value of this cake juxtaposed alongside desert blooms and succulents and we think the mixing of styles is spot on and is such a lovely 2016 wedding trend.
And finally, Design Studio South, you are amazing. Your eye for style and sophistication paired perfectly with our dream of a bohemian, whimsical shoot and you pulled all of the fantastic elements and vendors together with such professionalism (and so much fun)! Thank you for making me one happy wedding photographer!
Thank you so much to everyone involved in this shoot! You were a dream to work with and the final result is just amazing.
