When it comes to love, sometimes fate has its own way of working. From the moment I met Morgan and Jake, there was something so inherently beautiful about their chemistry, and every moment I got to share with them made me see more and more of that undeniable spark. For Morgan and Jake, their love story began a little differently than they probably had intended it, but life has a funny way of making things fall into place. Every second I spent with them was an absolute joy, and I had a wonderful time getting to capture their Savannah wedding and to celebrate the beginning of forever.

Let’s start at the beginning of their story. Morgan and Jake both lived in Savannah, and were very involved in their positions. Morgan had been studying at pharmaceutical school, and was working at Walmart Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician, and Jake was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield, where he would be working as a pilot. It was a warm spring night here in Savannah, in April of 2014. The two had yet to meet, but both decided to go out for a night on the town with mutual friends. They went to the local country bar, where everyone was having a blast as they swing danced the night away. It took him a while, but Jake had noticed Morgan from across the room, and finally got the courage to ask her to two-step with her. As they swayed around the dance floor, the chemistry between them suddenly became more evident. They continued to laugh and dance all night. The rest? History.

When it comes to the proposal, it’s safe to say that it was definitely not lacking in romance and a certain “wow” factor. Jake proposed in the middle of one of the many romantic squares of Historic Downtown Savannah. He tricked Morgan into going on a carriage ride before dinner one evening, and secretly had all of her immediate family and closest friends hidden in the bushes of the square with signs reading “Will you marry me?” Once they made it to the square, the tour guide insisted on them going to the middle of the square and kissing beside the fountain for “good luck”. Apparently, this was an old tradition of that certain square. Once they made it to the middle, everyone popped out of the bushes with the large white signs. While in shock to see everyone, she didn’t notice he was down on one knee trying to get the words out behind tears. Somewhere near the end he asked “Will you marry me?”, and, of course, she said “Yes.”

The couple had been dreaming of their wedding day for years, so when the time finally came, they were ecstatic to start the planning process. As you can see, their Savannah wedding was nothing short of perfection. Wedding planning is hard, but luckily, they had some pretty amazing vendors and assistance to help make the day perfect. Morgan’s mother, Marcy Bargstadt, did an excellent job as the wedding planner and putting everything together for the happy couple. Their gorgeous venues, including Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, Mirabelle Suites & Cafe, and Westin Golf Harbor & Spa, made the perfect romantic backdrop to their Savannah wedding. As far as our blushing bride goes, she did her own hair, which turned out perfectly, and had Tanya Clark as her makeup artist. BleuBelle helped Morgan to find her perfect wedding dress, which was complemented by shoes from Macy’s and Journey’s. The men, including our charming groom, looked so handsome in their suits from Men’s Wearhouse. During the vows, the wedding rings from Kay Jewelers and Strickland Jewelers looked absolutely dazzling in the chapel light. The Westin was a huge assistance to the couple, as they provided seating, as well as all of the delicious food from the night. Jody Wilson baked their scrumptious cake, and Garden on the Square topped off the night with their gorgeous floral arrangements. An extra thank you to Old Savannah Tours for providing transportation for the wedding party and the photography team!

At the end of the day, amidst all of the flowers, and cake, and dresses, and rings, the most important part of the day was the love shared between Morgan and Jake. In their own words, they make each other better. They bring out the best in each other, and that is what is most important about marriage. Their favorite part of the wedding day was getting to see their whole families, meeting everyone, and getting to share their special day with so many friends and family members. Being a part of such a true and authentic romance is something I will always cherish, and I look forward to hearing how this couple grow more and more as the years go on.
