On October 22^nd, 2016, I had the amazing privilege of capturing the marriage of Allison Stice and Nick Bulka, and it’s safe to say that the day was nothing short of pure magic. The sun was shining just beautifully on the Savannah Yacht Club that morning, and you could feel the romance and joy radiating from miles away. The cool Savannah breeze and the light scent of the water filled the air. Complete with a soft, warm color palette of sweet blushes and seductive burgundy, the mood was definitely set for the perfect Savannah Fall wedding.

Allison and Nick met back in their senior year of college, when a huge snowstorm cancelled classes for nearly three weeks. Students from the University of Maryland took advantage of the winter wonderland to go sledding, snowboarding, and warm up at the local bars. One night, while Allison and Nick were out with mutual friends, the two met and instantly bonded over their shared love of books, music, and philosophy. There was an immediate spark that night, and these two sweethearts have been inseparable ever since.

 

For the big question, Nick really made sure to take advantage of the situation! In July 2015, Nick and Allison went on vacation to Iceland, and one of their highlights was to see the infamous Ring Road, as well as seeing all of the geysers, waterfalls, and lagoons. They stopped during their visit to look at a gorgeous flower field. Allison ran to the car to grab her camera, and when she turned around, Nick was in the middle of the road on one knee, holding a ring box. Talk about a memorable experience on Ring Road!

 

From a brief stay in South Carolina for Allison’s journalism career, to a more permanent residency here in Savannah, Georgia, with both Allison and Nick working with Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), the newlyweds are excited to take on any adventure that life throws at them. Now that they have settled into Savannah, the couple felt that it was important to incorporate the familiar sights and scenes of their new hometown. For them, that included crisp fall nights by the water with an ice-cold beer spent with loved ones. Besides finally marrying each other, Nick and Allison were most excited to see friends and family that they normally don’t get the chance to see too often, as well as enjoying the amazing food, stunning scenery, and epic dance moves that came during the reception.

 

When it comes to the wedding itself, every detail was planned by Allison and her mom, which truly helped to make the whole day feel very true to the couple and authentic. For Allison, some of her favorite parts of the wedding included her dress, hair, and accessories. Style is very important to Allison, and each part of her look was carefully chosen to showcase her true aesthetic. Her beautiful dress was part of the BHLDN by Anthropologie collection, and complemented perfectly by her Aldo shoes. Her effortlessly natural makeup and hair were done by Jessica Bassett of Salon 13, and our blushing bride truly looked radiant that day.

 

Standing next to the bride on her big day were the gorgeous bridesmaids, dressed in varying shades of blush and burgundy, along with matching bouquets. The dresses were all provided by Weddington Way, and Harvey Designs did an excellent job of creating the perfect bouquets and centerpieces to complement the day. Of course, we can’t leave out our dapper men of the hour. The groom and groomsmen all looked incredibly handsome in their suits from Men’s Wearhouse. The looks for the newlyweds were completed with their beautiful wedding bands from Kay Jewellers.

 

Savannah Yacht Club was truly the perfect place for this celebration. From the quaint accents such as the mantel on the fireplace filled with family photos, to the cake table and the raw bar, the night was truly full of all things that showcased the couple’s personalities to a T. The chairs from Amazing Event Rentals helped to tie in the atmosphere of the evening, and gave the guests a rest from dancing the night away to the smooth music of VIP Entertainment.

 

At the end of the day, the most important part of any wedding is the love that the couple shares for each other. For Allison, Nick has taught her about patience and honesty, and opened up her world to new thoughts and ideas. His intelligence helps her to grow in her confidence and stand up for her own opinions and actions. For Nick, Allison teaches him to be considerate and how to view situations from other people’s perspectives. She also shows him how to be more disciplined and to be thankful for everything they are blessed with in life. These two ae the perfect fit for one another, and I wish them all the happiness in the world.
