Bridal Portraits at Red Gate Farms

 

When we were dreaming up a styled shoot that would highlight the beauty of Savannah and inspire a bride taking her bridal portraits in Savannah, we envisioned photos that emphasized the playful yet delicate beauty of The Hostess City. With a focus on bright, airy pastels and light, dreamy accents standing against the rustic beauty of farm life, our amazing team of vendors pulled together a lovely and charming dream wedding scene.

 

 

 

The backdrop of Red Gate Farms set the stage for dreaming up this shoot. With their refinished and modern approach, this venue is the perfect setting for romantic and charming bridal portraits. The boutique feeling of the location reaches to upscale weddings that wish to draw attention to their down home roots, and this appeals to every bride with her heart back home on the farm. Add this to the fact that there are real live animals – this is a real live farm – and the shoot was a dream to take part in.

 

 

To compliment the beautiful bride and add to the classic look of the venue, BlueBelle Bridal shared a stunning shoulder-laced gown that drew attention to her gorgeous silhouette of our while still presenting a traditional style even mama will adore! The train of the dress added some dramatic flare and made opportunity for a playful and fun approach out of doors.

 

 

Adorning the bride is a larger than life flower crown by Joann’s Florist. Creating a sense of drama and play by placing soft pastel roses against greenery and accents, Joann’s Florist created a stunning visual highlight that was upscale and dramatic without losing its refined strength.

 

 

To pair with this flower crown is an equally dramatic bouquet arrangement that emphasized the use of long lines to accentuate the length of the bride’s gown and draw attention to her flattering silhouette. This is not likely to be a bouquet that a bride would hold at her navel in the traditional sense; because of its length and down-hanging adornments, this is a bouquet that suits the stylish bride perfectly and requires carrying at her side or front.

 

 

Inside the barn is a stunning setup styled by Carlson’s Premier Events, using gold and pastel chairs, charger plates, and votives to add a high-end glam vibe to a casual barn setting. The centerpiece is a stunning arrangement by Joann’s Florist which uses an outpouring of delicate pastel florals to brighten up the setting and add a dramatic elegance.

 

 

 

Stylistically on point, the three-tiered cake by Wicked Cakes is set against an outdoor backdrop and plated on beautiful whitewashed vintage furniture that compliments the white fencing of the barn. This is the perfect addition to any wedding, as white vintage furniture is simple to find – whether from vintage stores for a more authentic look, or Pottery Barn for those with a particular coordinated style in mind. The pastel florals climbing the cake set against the thoughtfully-placed raspberries creates a little bit of whimsy while still staying true to the southern charm we aim to uphold.

 

 

Finally, hair and makeup by Beyond Beautiful by Heather is the perfect final touch to the dramatic style we have chosen for these stunning bridal portraits. The dramatic smoky eye pulls out this bride’s stunning features and the natural lip color completes the look of gentle simplicity that contrasts so beautifully with the dramatic flower crown. The bride’s blond up-do is right on trend for summer 2016 and fits so beautifully with the overall look of the shoot and high neckline of the dress.
