Love is patient, love is kind, love does not boast or envy… these beautiful words have been the centerpiece of romance for generations, and this couple has definitely made sure to live by these statements. Jordan and Robert have been some of the most selfless, kind, and determined people I have ever met. Throughout the entire engagement session, it was incredibly evident to see the romance and joy between these two.

For Jordan and Robert, getting engaged in Savannah was an easy decision. Between Savannah’s rich culture, inspiring history, and stunning Spanish moss, it’s easy to fall in love with the landscape and be swept away into Savannah’s magic. They ended up choosing Wormsloe Plantation as the backdrop for their engagement session, and it’s safe to say it turned out perfectly! Nothing says “romance” quite like pure sunlight streaming in through the gaps of trees and Spanish moss, and it made the perfect lighting to display our beautiful couple. Jordan had her wedding dress made by a local Charlotte designer, Alice Andrews, who also happened to make her skirt for the engagement session. The deep blue hue complemented the warm Savannah charm perfectly.

As far as the wedding planning goes, Jordan and Robert had a great time working through it together. They started planning about 7 months before the wedding, and set a monthly goal to keep them on track. They really enjoyed sharing their passion for each other along with their families throughout the whole process. When it came to a theme, the two love birds opted for “perfectly simple”. Both of them are very clean and minimalistic, so they wanted to make sure that they stayed true to themselves throughout the planning process. Most of the décor was kept to a simple white, with baby’s breath centerpieces, and Jordan’s dress was made out of organic silk. Robert looked absolutely dashing in a grey suit, which was complemented by a pock square made from leftover fabric from Jordan’s dress.

Although the wedding and engagement have passed, life together has been full of lots of love and laughter. One story that they shared with me happened before they even started dating. They had gone out to see the first Hunger Games in theatres together, and decided to go full out for their costumes of Katniss and Peta. As they were leaving the store, Robert noticed a loaf of bread, and of course, since Peta was the baker’s son, he had to buy it! They definitely enjoy their little quirks together. For Jordan, she really appreciates all of the little things that Robert does for her, such as going out to the store and buying ingredients to make cookies that she had mentioned earlier in the day. This fall, Jordan is going to be moving to Scotland to pursue her graduate degree, which will definitely stretch the couple. Distance is hard no matter where you are, but these two are determined to make sacrifices for each other and do what is best for the both of them. Marriage is definitely a marathon and not a sprint, and so far, they are enjoying every moment they get to spend together in their new lives.
