Red Gate Farms Savannah Engagement Photos
From the moment I met Kristina and Alex, I knew that there was something so special about them. Whether it was their playful spirits, or their love for life, it was clear that we were going to have a wonderful experience together. Kristina and Alex chose to have their photos taken over at Red Gate Farms, which just so happened to be one of the venues they had looked into for the wedding, but couldn’t get. Having the opportunity to take their engagement photos there was simply perfect, and really helped give them a little taste of the scenery that they loved.
Red Gate Farms is located over on Chatham Parkway, which is only a short drive from Downtown Savannah. As you can guess by the name, the venue features beautiful farms with gorgeous bright red accents. We had the privilege of shooting at Red Gate Farms on a picturesque summer day. The sunlight streaming in through the trees couldn’t have been more beautiful, and really helped give our stunning couple that perfect sunny glow. We decided to shoot at sunset, which created that perfect, romantic backdrop they were hoping for. The entire experience was straight out of a movie really; from the gentle summer breeze, the faint quacking of ducks on the water, and sweet kisses under the big oak tree.
Although Kristina and Alex chose to get married and engaged in Savannah, they actually are from the West Coast! Neither of them had been to Savannah before, but a few years back, a friend of theirs got married here, and they fell in love. Walking around the Historic District, it’s easy to be enamored with the sights and scenes of Savannah. The architecture, culture, and cuisine definitely captured the couple’s hearts, and they were instantly hooked. As soon as they got back home, they began to miss these cobblestone streets, so when they got engaged, location was an easy decision for these two.
Because Kristina and Alex are so far from Savannah, wedding planning has been a bit of an adventure. The process was described as fun, stressful, overwhelming, exciting, and stressful again. Luckily, they haven’t had to do everything by themselves. Michelle Roberson has been their wonderful wedding assistant throughout this process, and between the three of them, the big day is sure to be a success. Working with Kristina and Alex was such a delight, and they really brought their A-Game too! They are pretty stubborn people, and actually refused to admit that they were dating for a while, however, it’s clear to see their undeniable love for each other. I wish them all of the happiness in the world as they start on this new journey through life together.
