The Whitman Savannah Wedding Photos
From the moment I met Jordan and Robert, I knew that there was something absolutely captivating about them. I had the honor and privilege of getting to shoot this special couple’s wedding earlier this year, and after working with them and hearing their story, I only fell more and more in love with these two. Jordan and Robert both attended the University of Miami, where they met in 2012. Robert didn’t quite know it yet, but Jordan had been eyeing him for a while, and had developed a bit of a crush on him. They met while on an alternative Spring Break getaway to Washington DC, and that’s all it took for the two to really hit it off. After coming back to reality, they went out on a few dates, and decided to take the plunge- literally! On the day they started dating, they shared one of the most thrilling experiences of their lives: skydiving. These two adventure seekers began madly falling for each other (no pun intended). Before you keep reading this incredible love story, I want to show you some images from their wedding day! You can also click HERE to view their engagement photos.
While every relationship has its hardships, this couple definitely felt the hit when it came time for each of them to part ways. The pair dated for two years of long distance between Ohio and North Carolina, until Robert was able to move down for a job opportunity. Despite the negative stigma around long distance relationships, Jordan and Robert believed that what they had was truly worth fighting for, and they worked hard to keep the relationship going throughout the hard times.
After everything that this couple had been through, it was finally about time for Robert to take their relationship to the next level. For weeks, Robert had been planning an elaborate proposal that involved the very thing that brought them together: flying. On February 28th, 2014, Robert secretly flew down to ask Jordan to be his wife. Jordan was completely in the dark, in fact, she was simply having dinner with a friend that night. However, when dinner was done and she was brought over to Freedom Park, the row of candles leading up to the love of her life told her that this was not just an ordinary night. As soon as she saw him, she ran up into his embrace and exclaimed “Yes!” The rest? History.
When it came time to decide on details for the big day, the couple was able to make at least one decision with ease: location. The two had come down to visit Savannah for a fall vacation, and they were completely captivated by the sights and scenes. From the old homes, to the trees, and the Spanish moss, it was easy to be entranced by the old world romantic feel. After touring The Whitman, the combination of classic history and elegant luxury, everything seemed to fall into place, and they knew immediately that this was the place that they would become husband and wife.
The wedding itself was absolutely breathtaking. Dillon Komula planned a completely captivating and heartwarming celebration of the love and joy between this couple. As mentioned above, the event took place at The Whitman, which perfectly matched their old-time romance. The gentleman of the wedding party, as well as our dashing groom Robert, were incredibly handsome in their suits from Nautica. Jordan looked absolutely stunning in her custom designed gown from Alice Andrews Designs, which uses upcycled silks and fabrics to create a completely one of a kind gown. Some of her gowns have even been featured on the runway, showcasing her uses of recycled vintage wedding gowns, World War II silk parachutes, and more. Musa shoes were the perfect complement to the dress. Jessica Lee gave Jordan the perfect half-up, half-down up-do, and Lindsey Wirht created the perfect wedding day “glow” for Jordan’s makeup. The couple exchanged vows, they gave each other gorgeous rings from Perry’s Antique and Estate Jewelry. Publix provided a delicious cake, which complemented the flowers from Johnson’s Florist so well. The guests were able to dance the night away with tunes by Harden and Crenshaw Music.
While the ceremony and all of the vendors were breathtaking, the real centerpiece of the night was our lovely couple, Jordan and Robert. In their own words, Robert keeps Jordan grounded, and Jordan pushes Robert to achieve bigger and better things- both such wonderful traits to have in a spouse. These two exhibit such grace and poise, while still having fun and enjoying life as it comes. It was an absolute honor to be a part of their special day, and I wish them the best of luck in their future years of married life. You can also click HERE to view their engagement photos.
