Wormsloe Plantation Styled Wedding Photos

Savannah Photographers

This Wormsloe Plantation styled wedding shoot was such an amazing shoot. It was an honor to have been a part of a gathering of talented Savannah photographers along with other photographers from across the country. This styled wedding shoot was a culmination of the efforts of several talented vendors. Mainly it was styled by Alysse Sweeney and Tristan Zebenko from Design Studio South. The light that day was so perfect. We had a forecast of rain but Mother Nature was on our side and the sun shone on our shoot with golden rays!

The main thread in this shoot was the story of the lovers. We used the theme of handwritten love notes to show an in depth love story. Their traditional courtship and enchanting Wormsloe Plantation wedding. Several of the details we brought to this shoot showcased this history of love, such as the typewriter, handwritten love notes and more. So many of the details and decorations that day were unforgettable. A gorgeous table-scape in the middle of the forest. Draped in a silky blue table cloth that hugged the table and made it inviting and chic at the same time. This sweetheart table featured pearly white china, golden dinnerware and a blush/salmon napkin.

One of my favorite things to shoot was the trumpet and horn rings which were to die for! Trumpet and Horn never fails to deliver amazing jewelry with a history and meaning behind it. They single handedly revamped the wedding ring industry into something that is less about consumerism and more about tradition. Now, I cannot even think of writing this post without talking about those flowers. Colonial House of Flowers did a stupendous job with the bridal bouquet. They used dinner plat dahlias for the bouquet and it was stunning. The oversized bouquet went very well with the size of the landscape. Wormsloe Plantation is such a large area with enormous oak trees overflown with hanging moss and the flowers stood out very well against the backdrop.

Its not everyday that any of the dozen talented Savannah Photographers gets to shoot something so well put together. Every detail was flawless and everything was superbly well planned. This styled wedding shoot was almost a dozen vendors and no one disappointed. Everyone brought their “A” game and the results are incredible.

One of my favorite details were the champagne cocktails on the saucer champagne glasses. This old school champagne glass is still a favorite of mine and the rosemary garnish really sealed the deal. One of my favorite shots is the portrait of the couple toasting while they are in the midst of a kiss. The models we used are a real couple and their chemistry and connection was transparent and real. It allowed me to photograph their intimacy very easily. Once again, any of the many talented Savannah Photographers would have been lucky to photograph a couple with this much love for each other. Their eyes glittered anytime we asked them to look at each other.

I adore the photo of the bride with the veil over her head. The light is shinning on her with a heavenly quality that you don’t see at every wedding. The light hugs her and envelops her in a magical glow that only film photography can capture. Digital photography would not be able to capture that photo the way that it was meant to be photographed.

Towards the end of the wedding styled shoot, we were loosing daylight but still had time to photograph the couple on a gorgeous sofa furnished by Savannah Vintage Rentals. Their amazing sofa is a soft grey color that the film camera captured as cream and I love the result. Truly elegant and southern.
