Brianna & Nick’s Wedding at the Mackey House
Last September I had the absolute pleasure of being the wedding photographer for Brianna & Nick beautiful wedding at the Mackey House, Savannah’s premier wedding venue destination. What I loved about this wedding and this couple was the way they made the day as fun as it could possibly get – their day was filled with so much laughter and no detail went unchecked, which is precisely how a wedding day should be.
Brianna and Nick worked with the amazing planner Michelle Roberson from Improvisions to make sure that every moment of the day was just perfect. Flying in on a private jet, the couple set the tone for a day of fun and grandeur to pair with all of the amazing details that Michelle integrated into their day.
The bride was donned with a stunning full sleeve partial-lace dress with a semi-sweetheart neckline and full-length dramatic veil. The dress was completed lovingly with a back-tied bow and ivory Vince Camuto heels, while Brianna’s hair was set in a partial up-do with a natural wave. These details were an amazing touch to add to her classic, timeless bridal look, finished perfectly with a natural style of makeup by Savannah makeup artist Heather Ferguson. The traditional outdoor ceremony was set in a sea of greenery under a veiled arbor and finished with white and green florals by Michelle Roberson – certainly a treat for a wedding photographer! The details paired perfectly with the bride’s dramatic and lovely bouquet that emphasized a look of wild but curated greenery in a bundle of white roses and lilies.
The couple enjoyed their first dance in the setting daylight in the Mackey House reception tent. Everything was set to be elegant and crisp with white table settings, tall vases filled with white hydrangeas and vintage candlesticks, and the glow of twinkle lights set the mood for romance. The reception was fun and filled with love and no detail was spared. The cake by Rum Runners was elegant and whimsical, with white lace detail and white flower petals decorating the top-tier style cake. Uniquely decorated pink and white cupcakes provided guests with a delightful after-dinner treat, following the dinner by the amazing and personable caterers at Magnolia Grill.
The Father/Daughter dance was filled with tears and memories as Brianna and her father enjoyed their own special moment in a day of busy celebration. The bride and groom followed up this lovely time with their own first dance and once again Brianna and Nick were laughing together and enjoying some of the most intimate moments of their wedding day. As the night flew by and the formalities came to a close, DJ Will Smith brought down the house with a mix of music that had all the guests at the intimate party off their chairs and on the dance floor. The cake was cut, the sun set, and the tent glowed with a stunning combination of twinkle lights and the light-up dance floor, which set the mood for a great party.
When it was time for the day to draw to a close, Brianna and Nick said their goodbyes and exited down the white staircase of Mackey House to their guests blowing bubbles and good wishes their way as they climbed into a white vintage Timeless Motor Coach and departed for their honeymoon. This wedding was a treat to capture and I am honored to have been the wedding photographer. I wish the couple every best luck as they begin their journey together as husband and wife!
