The Perfect Dress for Your Wedding Photos

For most women, planning out your dream wedding has been in the making since you saw your first Disney Princess movie. Every aspect of the big day is important of course, from the cake, to the flowers, to the wedding photos, it all is so important to making this day as special as it can possibly be. But, of course, every little girl has fantasized over their dream wedding dress to look amazing int heir wedding photos. Back in the days of Cinderella and Belle, huge ball gowns with delicate ornamentation were all the craze. However, now that the time has come to actually decide on a dress, is that really the best idea? Well, we are here to give you some tips on deciding on the perfect dress for your big day:

1. Keep in Mind How the Material Will Affect Your Wedding Photos

While gorgeous, elaborate ball gowns are definitely eye-catching and glamorous, it is important to keep in mind the practicality of your dress throughout the day. If your wedding is in the spring or summer, are you really going to want that much heavy material to walk around in? Especially if you take your wedding photos outdoors, you will want to have a dress that can move around easily and won’t weigh you down. We highly recommend looking at dresses that are light and comfortable. Tulle is always a great option, since it will create that “princess” feel, without consuming you. Nobody wants a photo of the bride passed out from heat stroke!

2. Dress for the Venue

As mentioned above, you will want to accommodate for your surroundings when it comes to your dress. If you will be outdoors, it might be best to get a dress that doesn’t have too many delicate pieces. The last thing you want on your big day is to have part of your dress get caught in a tree or a bush! Likewise, having a big fluffy skirt may work perfectly for an indoor wedding, but outside, it is very likely for the bottom of the skirt to pick up some debris on your way down the aisle. Your dress is something you will cherish for the rest of your life, and you want it to be kept in great condition, not ripped and full of dirt.

3. Footwear is Crucial for Your Wedding Photos

As much as everyone would like to believe that the dress is the only thing you have to worry about for the bride, it is extremely important to focus in on the footwear as well. As mentioned above, keeping in mind your surroundings is very important when deciding on what to wear. Stilettos may be possible for an indoor ceremony, but it may be difficult to walk down the aisle if your heel is caught in the grass. Remember, you will be walking around all day, greeting guests, dancing, and spending time with your new spouse, so you will want to be comfortable. Ballet flats are a great alternative so that you are able to walk around with ease, yet still feel dressed up and polished.

No matter what you decide to wear on your magical day, the most important thing to remember is to find what makes you feel the most beautiful and special. At the end of the day, you want to do what is best for you, not anyone else. Keeping these tips close by will help in making your day a bit more comfortable.
